These services are set to an UNRESTRICTED SID type, but the SQLANYs_sem5 service remains under the RESTRICTED category.  <\/p>\n<h5>Solution<\/h5>\n<p>Use the following workaround to change the SID type to UNRESTRICTED, since we are using a service virtual account for the Symantec Embedded Database service as well.  <\/p>\n<h5>Check the SID type of the service<\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>On the computer where SEPM is installed, click <strong>Start <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Run<\/strong>.\n<li>Type CMD and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.\n<li>Type sc qsidtype SQLANYs_sem5\n<li>Verify that the following is returned:<br \/>[SC] QueryServiceConfig2 SUCCESS<br \/>SERVICE_NAME: SQLANYs_sem5<br \/>SERVICE_SID_TYPE: RESTRICTED<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w3c.weblink.com.tw\/symantec\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/04\/image35.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"image\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/w3c.weblink.com.tw\/symantec\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2015\/04\/image_thumb35.png\" width=\"681\" height=\"446\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Change the SID type of the SQLANYs_sem5 service to UNRESTRICTED<\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>On the computer where SEPM is installed, click <strong>Start<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Run<\/strong>.\n<li>Type CMD and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.\n<li>Type cd &#8220;&lt;Drive&gt;:\\Program Files (x86)\\Symantec\\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\\bin&#8221;<br \/><strong>Note:<\/strong> Replace &lt;Drive&gt; with the drive that SEPM is installed on.\n<li>Type ServiceUtil.exe -changeservicesidtype 1 -servicename &#8220;SQLANYs_sem5&#8221;<br \/><strong>Note:<\/strong> Running the command returns: &#8220;Change the semsrv service SID successfully.&#8221; The string &#8220;semsrv&#8221; is hardcoded, but we are changing the SID type for the SQLANYs_sem5 service.
