{"id":8575,"date":"2015-03-31T18:06:49","date_gmt":"2015-03-31T10:06:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w3c.weblink.com.tw\/symantec\/?p=8575"},"modified":"2015-03-31T18:06:49","modified_gmt":"2015-03-31T10:06:49","slug":"unable-access-second-partition-after-formatting-primary-partition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/w3c.weblink.com.tw\/symantec\/?p=8575","title":{"rendered":"Unable Access Second Partition After Formatting Primary Partition"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Issue<\/h5>\n<p>On a whole disk encrypted a disk with two partitions, the second partition is inaccessible after formatting the primary partition without decrypting the disk.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><strong>Warning:<\/strong> Do not re-encrypt the C: Drive as this will result in overwriting the session key and PGPWDE01 file which contains the drive encryption information and makes the disk unrecoverable. <\/p>\n<h5>Environment<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>2 partitions on an internal hard disk (C: and D: )\n<li>Both partitions are PGP Whole Disk Encrypted\n<li>The C: partition is formatted without decrypting the drive <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Solution<\/h5>\n<p>To resolve this issue, you must attached the disk to another computer with PGP Desktop installed. Then use the pgpwde command line interface to decrypt the disk. <\/p>\n<p>Use the following steps: <\/p>\n<p>1. Open a Windows Command Prompt. <\/p>\n<p>2. Change to the following directory <b>C:\\Program Files\\PGP Corporation\\PGP Desktop<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>3.
